TransUnion’s executive team outline their vision for the evolving financial ecosystem, and our role in growing and protecting the integrity of the UK’s economy. We’ll share our point of view on recent acquisitions, the changing regulatory landscape and emerging innovations.

10:10–10:40 a.m.

fork-and-knife

Our external economist summarises the UK’s current economic performance, providing rich insights and perspectives into consumer spending power and confidence, and cues up what we can expect to see in the coming months and into 2024.

How clearly does your business understand your sectors’ performance and customers’ priorities?

This session leverages TransUnion’s proprietary insights and consumer research to help you better understand emerging trends and shifting behaviours of credit-active consumers. Topics include spiking utility bills stretching household budgets, the impact of falling house prices, and implications of increasing card spend over the past 12 months. We aim to equip you with a clearer idea of how to adapt your business strategies to the evolving landscape to defend and/or grow your market share.

11:35 a.m.–12:20 p.m.

Breakout Session 1

With bad actors using sophisticated technology and PII they’ve amassed online, establishing trust and detecting risk is increasingly challenging. In this session, the TU Fraud & ID leadership team discuss what organisations must focus on to try to level the playing field and transact with more confidence.

Topics include emerging fincrime and cybercrime threats, such as no intent to pay, money mules, organised 3rd party fraud and targeted online attacks, as well as the all important perspective of the consumer. We'll share the patterns we are seeing emerge across multilple sectors, how businesses are responding and the forward-thinking strategies that can help improve performance.

Are myths and misconceptions holding back a growth opportunity?

We’ll explore TransUnion proprietary data as we dig into the potential and opportunity of the new-to-credit consumer segment. This study was designed to help institutions gain a deeper, more nuanced understanding of this often neglected, credit-invisible consumer cohort — and lend to those within it more confidently.

We’ll highlight the importance of new-to-credit consumers as an untapped growth opportunity and discuss their behavioural and demographic features. By understanding their credit journeys, lenders will be better able to identify segments for acquisition opportunities.

Breakout Session 2

In this session, you’ll learn how one the UK’s most customer-centric banks created a next-generation lending experience by embedding credit monitoring tools and features. You'll also get an exclusive sneak preview of how one of the UK's most innovative financial service providers is set to enhance their customer platform. Join us and get a better understanding of how these tools can engage and educate customers to make better credit decisions — especially during this period of economic uncertainty — and how this ‘stickiness’ helps build loyalty and improve conversion rates.

The backdrop of economic pressures and increased attention on Consumer Duty from the regulator signifies it’s never been more critical for businesses to be able to identify vulnerable consumers. To help with this urgent need, we’ve designed a Vulnerability Severity Index.

This session introduces the concept and takes a robust look at the spectrum of consumer vulnerability, diving into proprietary TransUnion data and partner data to identify both financial and ‘non-financial’ vulnerability. Join us to understand early warning indicators and implications concerning consumers’ future behaviours and needs. From a responsible growth perspective, we’ll also look at how to better measure levels of resilience and prosperity amongst consumers.

2:25–3:10 p.m.

fork-and-knife

Breakout Session 3

Data advancements have the potential to improve how well you know your customer and drive outstanding customer experiences and personalised services. With regulatory evolution, including the new Consumer Duty, and intense market competition, the right approach could hold the key to growth and be a real unique selling point.

In this session, we’ll ask industry leaders from different sectors: How big the gap between potential and reality really is, and what more can be done to get to know customers better? We’ll pose a set of questions on key topics to our panel — and invite questions from the audience. Join us for a lively and insightful conversation on the data strategies, advanced customer experiences and operational priorities driving success in the modern economy.

Gen Z are the greatest agents of change and growth we’ve seen for generations. If we’re to engage and expand with this generation, it’s essential we understand their preferences and how they differ from the prior generation. In this unique study, we compare Gen Z behaviours seen in TransUnion datasets with the behaviours of Millennials when they were of the same age.

We’ll analyze Gen Z consumers by evaluating their levels of participation and performance in the credit market, observing generational similarities and differentiating trends to help lenders identify growth opportunities. We’ll share perspectives on how you can adjust strategies to meet the evolving expectations of this key consumer segment.

3:30 - 4:15 p.m.
